Packing and Sending Your Return
PLEASE READ THIS
PAGE CAREFULLY!
Lockhouse takes extra measures over and above the manufacturers original
packaging to make sure your merchandise arrives to you in good condition. All
manufacturers packaging is packed and shipped in an outer box.
Most retailers have a fine print return policy
with a generic statement similar to the following: "Products must be
returned in its original packaging with all of the parts that the
manufacturer included with the product, in new and resalable condition.”
So there is no misunderstanding we want to expand on the meaning of this
statement in everyday language.
All products must be returned to us packaged
within outer packaging. Manufacturers packaging is a part of the product
and determines whether the product is resalable as much as the condition
of it's contents. When the manufacturers product packaging is
returned defaced with tape, shipping labels and affixed postage, the product is no longer
new or resalable. Returns received with defaced packaging will not be
accepted by Lockhouse and will be returned to you at your expense.
Returned merchandise will not be considered new if it
arrives at Lockhouse damaged from improper packing, with missing or
damaged packaging, and/or missing parts. Products returned
with missing or damaged packaging, and/or missing parts, will
be accessed a restocking fee that will vary from
20% up to the full purchase price. If your return arrives with internal
damage you will be notified and you will have the option to file a claim
with your shipping agent or instruct Lockhouse to return it to you.
To insure your refund or exchange transaction goes smooth,
and this is our sincere wish, please take
appropriate measures to package your returns so they arrive here in new
condition. If you unwrap all the parts and then throw all the loose parts
unprotected in a box, there is going to be product damage in shipment.
If your return arrives with internal damage you will be notified by
Lockhouse and you will have the option to file a claim with your shipping
agent or instruct Lockhouse to return it to you.
PACKAGING and SHIPPING GUIDELINES
When packaging your merchandise for return, please take the time to package
them with care. Most of the hardware sold by Lockhouse is made of brass
which is a very soft metal and easily scratched and gouged by other metal parts
floating around inside the package during transit. Every single part must
be enclosed in the internal packaging material you received with your
order. If you have any doubt about how it was originally packaged:
- Place any screws in a separate plastic
bag and seal the bag.
- Wrap all other individual piece
separately in bubble wrap if available or in newspaper. Any part that is
not individually wrapped and is floating around in the box will
cause damage in transit.
- Use bubble wrap or crumpled newspaper to
separate loose fitting parts.
- Package merchandise to be returned
securely in an outer box.
- Purchasing insurance for the return is
suggested since we are not responsible for merchandise that is lost or
damaged in
return shipping. We recommend UPS
( A package sent UPS is automatically
protected against loss or damage up to $100, so it is not necessary to
purchase insurance on a package sent UPS with a value less than $100) or
Insured Parcel Post.
